Signs your system needs service

  • Rooms that won’t stay warm
  • Heating bills creeping up
  • Banging, rattling or whistling
  • Furnace turning on and off often
  • Yellow flame instead of blue
  • Soot, odors or a system over 15 years old

Why Annual Inspections Matter

During a recent inspection, one of our techs found two cracks in a furnace that could have put the family at risk. That’s what a yearly visit is for. A tune-up keeps your system safe, cuts down on breakdowns, helps it run efficiently and adds years to its life.

Repair or Replace?

If the repair is minor and your system has life left in it, repairing it is usually the smart move. If your furnace or boiler is older, breaking down often or facing a major part failure, replacing it may cost less in the long run.

We’ll walk you through the cost to repair now, how reliable the system is likely to be afterward, and whether replacement makes more sense. You get advice based on the actual condition of your system, not a sales pitch.

Financing

New System? Make It Easier to Pay For.

We offer financing through FTL Finance, with an easy online application. You may also qualify for rebates or low-cost loans from Efficiency Vermont or VGS.

Heating emergency?

If you smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide, leave the house now. Call 911 or your gas or propane supplier from outside. Don’t flip switches or use your phone inside.

No heat in freezing weather? Call (802) 849-2466.

Before you call, check:

  • The thermostat is set to heat and has working batteries
  • The furnace switch and breaker are on
  • The filter isn’t clogged
  • If pipes are at risk, let faucets drip and open sink cabinets on outside walls
